Follow along step-by-step in the video below to create your own:
Supplies You’ll Need
- 2 sheets of 12×12 scrapbook paper
(same design or mix & match) - Cardstock (for photo mats)
- Paper trimmer or scissors
- Scoreboard (or ruler + scoring tool)
- Glue or double-sided tape
- Corner rounder (optional)
- Velcro dots, ribbon, or closure of choice
- Decorative elements (stickers, cutouts, stamps)
Measurements & Cutting Guide
Envelope Base (Cover)
- Cut paper to 6½” x 12”
- Score at:
- 1½”
- 5½”
- 9⅝”
Fold along score lines to form:
- Waterfall base area
- Closure flap
Waterfall Pieces (4 total)
- Cut 4 pieces at:
- 5½” x 3¾”
- Score each at ½” on the 5½” side
Bottom Cover Layer
- Cut 4¾” x 3¾”
Inside Pocket Layer
- Cut approximately 6⅛” x 3”
(slightly smaller to fit inside pocket cleanly)
Top Flap Cover
- Cut 6¼” x 2¼”
Photo Mats
- Waterfall mats: 4¾” x 3½”
- Back mat: 5¾” x 3¾”
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create the Envelope Base
- Score and fold your base piece.
- Add glue along the edge to seal the pocket.
- Round corners if desired.
2. Assemble the Waterfall
- Fold each scored flap.
- Attach the first piece at the top inside panel.
- Layer remaining pieces underneath, slightly overlapping to create the waterfall effect.
3. Cover the Base
- Glue the bottom cover layer in place.
- Add the inside pocket layer (slightly tucked in).
- Attach the flap cover piece to the top.
4. Add Photo Mats
- Place mats on:
- First waterfall flap
- Third waterfall flap
- Add a larger mat to the back panel.
5. Decorate Your Album
This is where the magic happens ✨
Use:
- Stickers
- Paper cutouts
- Stamps (like a small camera 📸 to hint at photos)
- Florals, tropical themes, or seasonal designs

6. Add Closure
